Efanis was a member of the Guild of Surveyors and helped with the Great Shaft project until his death. With many members representing The Council onboard, Master Telanis decided to forego the usual safety measures of sounding out the rock to impress their guests with the machinery. However, an unexpected layer of diamond shattered the drill while it was digging and pierced Efanis, later killing him. A small ceremony is held for him and his body is linked to another age. His death, however, inspires The Council to continue the project and expedite it by digging straight up instead of across.
