In the anime-only match against the American doubles pair Billy Cassidy and Michael Lee, Atobe develops his Rondo Towards Destruction to work with his partner, Genichirō Sanada after they play as a team based off of the rhythm of a tango music event they both attended. Instead of completing the two-part smash himself, Sanada hits the tennis ball to the opponents hand then Atobe leaps into the air and completes the two-part smash by smashing the ball into the opponent's court.
