Kijo Park, or Kijo Koen, was the site of the castle for the Tsuchiya family that governed the region. The castle was demolished during the Meiji Era. Portions of the castle have been restored. The park contains the inner moat of the castle, a tiny zoo, and the Tsuchiura City Museum. The park is 800 meters west of Tsuchiura Station.
