It was first seen in the Battlefield 3: Physical Warfare Pack Gameplay Trailer and was exclusive to those who pre-ordered the Limited Edition of the game from select retailers such as Gamestop in the United States, GAME in the United Kingdom, and Origin. Having sparked widespread controversy because it deprived players of some in-game content, DICE addressed the issue and announced that it was a time-based exclusive and was later released for free.
