Leora IV was the site of a human colony in the 23rd century. The members of the colony were apparently close to a discovery that would evolve humanity into a higher species until Djinn destroyed the colony out of fear and hatred. By the time the USS Enterprise answered the colony's distress call, there were no survivors left. (TOS comic: "All of Me")
