Several months after the COG moved to Vectes, the Trilliant went out with the rest of the trawler fleet from Pelruan on a fishing run, escorted by the Amirale Enka. They found a large school of Oilfish, and after they informed CPO Frank Muller on the Enka about the catch, they settled in for several hours to catch them. However, a large explosion interrupted the fishing, and a crewmember on the Trilliant saw the Levanto explode. The Trilliant headed for where the ship had been, joining the Enka in inspecting the wreckage and searching for survivors.
