Joe C. Meriweather (born October 26, 1953 in Phenix City, Alabama) is an American former professional Basketball player. A 6'10" Center (basketball) from Southern Illinois University, Meriweather played ten seasons (1975-1985) in the NBA as a member of the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Jazz, New York Knicks, and Kansas City Kings. He earned NBA All-Rookie honors in his first season, during which he averaged 10.2 points, 6.4 Rebound (basketball), and 1.5 Block (basketball). Over the course of his career, Meriweather averaged 8.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks.
