The halfling is a level-one creature of the Academy in Heroes of Might and Magic IV. Fast growth and a good special ability make the halfling a viable end-game creature. However, their fragile nature means they must fight from the back ranks, and their slow adventure map speed prompts many players to leave halflings for town defense. Combining halflings with the Precision spell is a tactic mage heroes can take advantage of from very early in the game, and this combo alone is often enough to take down many early neutral stacks.
