Elected to Parliament in 3112, John Holt was one of the most conservative members of the Free Democratic caucus. In 3120, he contested the leadership and came in third place. In 3125, Holt was named Minister of Finance. Three years later, he defeated Norma Ann Glendon in a leadership challenge. He retired from Parliament in 3138 after serving for 26 years. He died in 3146 at the age of 66. His wife, Terese, died in 3168 at the age of 87. Caroline and Patrick died returning from their mother's funeral at the age of 59.
