For some time, Gamble was using this ride as a money-spinner, presumably earning money from both the riders and Doctor Robotnik. However, one day, the ride was boarded by a disguised Shortfuse the Cybernik, guessing that the ride led to trouble. After the ride came to its end in the caverns, Shortfuse destroyed the Troopers and snapped the cable that powered the Badnik processor. Shortfuse then carried the cart full of passengers back to the surface, demanding a refund from Gamble. The slimy lizard pretended not to know of the goings-on below the surface, but secretly planned to continue operations once Shortfuse was gone. However, despite having no evidence that Gamble was involved, Shortfuse destroyed the track, ending the ride's profitability.
