The OIS-USSR Buffer Zone, abbreviated as OUBZ, was an enormous expanse of territory built by OIS countries to guard against Soviet menace. It lies on the Soviet border with Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Northern People's Republic of China, and Mongolia and was formerly under the control of Belgio-Yarphei. The zone was created unilaterally with Yarphese occupation of the areas involved. It was dismantled beginning on 26 December 2010 per the Treaty of Beira. However, some parts were allotted to the Altaic Union.
