Skateboards were used by various tribes as a means of getting around, as well as Rollerblades. The skateboard was the preferred mode of getting from A-B by Bray (of the Mallrats). Being in charge of getting the Tribe food, meant he needed to get around swiftly and easily, and he rarely ventured outside the Mall without his skateboard. With limited resources of gasloine/petrol, many of the normal modes of transport became non existent unless you were a Tribe of power, and so items such as skateboard were easily used by the Tribes and became the norm.
