The 'Group of 88' are the 88 members of the Duke faculty who published the 'listening statement' as an advertisement in Duke's student newspaper The Chronicle. Many of the Group of 88 also signed the later 'clarifying statement'; however, not all did, and not all of those who signed the clarifying statement were signatories of the original listening statement.
