Luhrsen also worked in the camera and electrical department of the 1982 fantasy film The Beastmaster. He previously was the location scout for the 1980 horror film The Hearse and the transportation captain for the 1981 comedy Take This Job and Shove It on which he worked with his wife Betsy Oliver-Luhrsen.
