Grunt is an enemy from Final Fantasy VII encountered in the Sector 1 Reactor, the game's opening location, and is a possible encounter in the Battle Square opening round before the player obtains Tiny Bronco. In the Battle Square, it has enhanced stats with double the normal HP and 25% higher Attack and Magic Attack. Grunts and their variations have a "flammable" sign on their arm. Grunt was called Combatants in the earliest Final Fantasy VII demo, and also appeared in the boss battle accompanying a large Sweeper; this battle replaces the Guard Scorpion battle from the final game.
