Androcus was a star with an associated star system that was located a number of parsecs away from Earth and the Sol system, in Federation space, near the border between the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The system at Androcus includes the gas giant planet Astrad, considered by some to be a stellar body in its own right, albeit one that failed to ignite.
