The Battle of Omwat was the first significant battle in the Pirate Wars in 44 BBY. It was between the Liberators Pirate Organization and Chin's Faction. Tesh Vohore led the Liberators to Omwat to attempt peaceful negotiations. But when Chin Chaldak refused to comply and opened fire of one of Tesh’s vessels, the battle was taken planetside. The two factions battled it out in the savannahs of Omwat. Unfortunately, Chin’s small army could hold onto their position and was forced to flee the planet.
