Kaiu Ryoko was a Crab Clan bushi. Ryoko served as an engineer tasked with maintaining the Kaiu Wall. Such was the most Ryoko ever hoped for, as the Wall held a mystical status to her. Ryoko came from a long line of Kaiu family daimyo, and was thus given the early position of gunso. Ryoko distinguished herself by performing repairs during battle and destroying enemy fortifications under adverse conditions. It was expected that Ryoko would be in line for much greater advancement.
