War Shrikes are hunting birds. They are usually small, but can grow to gargantuan sizes. They are the natural enemy of Rocs and were often used by villains in the Shannara series, such as the Shadowen Tib Arne, whose Shrike was named Gloon, and the Ilse Witch, whose Shrike was called Chaser.
