Alasdair Heemskerk was a Havenite citizen and an officer of the State Security Naval Forces. Holding the rank of Rear Admiral, he was SSNF battle squadron commander assigned to Vice Admiral Tourville's task force in the Twelfth Fleet. When Rear Admiral Heemskerk tried to arrest Vice Admiral Tourville on the orders of Oscar Saint-Just, Commander Shannon Foraker of Vice Admiral Tourville's staff the activated the computer codes that destroyed all the SSNF warships assigned to the Twelfth Fleet (Ooops..).
