The Life of SpongeBob SquarePants is a spin-off of the popular animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants which premiered on March 30, 2015. What differentiates this series from its parent is that it is open to tackling more "mature" themes (politics, media, or the economy, for example) without dramatically altering the characters' personalities and making them unrecognizable to fans of the original series (the series will also features themes that are already present and very recognizable in its parent, such as SpongeBob and Patrick fooling around when they've got nothing to do, and Plankton orchestrating audacious, often ridiculous, attempts to steal the Krabby Patty secret recipe).
