520 years ago after the discovery of the 13 Colony mankind was forced to abandon Earth and her colonies and flee to the stars in seach of a new home. Eventually mankind did find a new home but so far off course that it took centuries to find out where they had gone. Durring this time mankind founded 3 new colonies and slowly grew vowing never to leave their home worlds again. This is the part of the location for the Battlestar Spirit of Liberty and her crew's story 520 years after the exodus, and is currently engaged in the largest war the Federation has ever seen since the Exodus from the Liberty's timeline of old Earth. There are currently nearly 520 colonies on habbital planets and moons in what is considered Federation space.
