Drazin Markand was a Human male who served as a snowtrooper sergeant major in the Stormtrooper Corps of the Galactic Empire. He continued serving under the Imperial Remnant after the fragmentation of the Empire in the aftermath of Endor, but later retired after the Yuuzhan Vong War, in 29 ABY. He was a seasoned soldier and maintained a low rank in order to keep fighting on the front lines. By 3 ABY, Markand was one of the most seasoned troops in Blizzard Force. He led a platoon of snowtroopers called Tundra Team, which spearheaded the attack on the Hoth Rebel base, alongside the 501st Legion. After the success at Hoth, Markand briefly served as an arctic combat instructor at the Carida Imperial Military Academy before being sent to an Outer Rim planet to command the garrison there.
