Nation Song Contest 127 was hosted by Calypso for only the second time in NSC history (the first time being NSC 55). The hosting rights came to Calypso after placing 4th in the previous edition, as winner and runner-up Ujedinjeni Gvozd and Tír an Abhainn declined hosting, while 3rd-placed Begonia was absent for the edition. The semifinal results for this edition were notably presented using self-produced repeating samples from the qualified entries, which gradually added new instrumental layers to slowly reveal the song beneath.
