Note for future editors of this article: the reason these were not used as much as catapults is because they had to be run manually, making for a slower launching time and therefore less effective on the battlefield. However, they made for a stronger impact when used, which is why the Mokai used them instead of catapults. The other reason the Mokai used them is because they no longer had access to their steam technology, and the battlefield was no place to be putting steam lines for the trebuchets anyway. So the only reason they would have used catapults would have been if they preferred much more fired at the enemy than much less with a more powerful punch. Savvy?
