The 1974 Oakland Raiders season was the team’s 15th season. For the fourth time in five seasons, the Raiders earned the AFC West title. For the second straight campaign, the Raiders gained revenge in the playoffs against the tea that had eliminated them the season before. This time, the silver and black defeated the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Miami Dolphins 28–26 in the AFC Division Round game. Quarterback Kenny Stabler threw the winning touchdown pass to running back Clarence Davis in what has come to be known as the Sea of Hands game. However, for the second straight season, the Raiders lost in the AFC Championship, this time at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
