Gretchen Louisa Jaeger was a Federation Starfleet officer on active duty in the 23rd century. She was the daughter of Douglas Jaeger, a Starfleet officer assigned to the USS Armstrong, and Frances (née Holland) Jaeger. The Jaegers lived in the Ganymede Triad 6 colony on Ganymede. When she was eight years old, her father was killed on a mission. Jaeger entered Starfleet Academy against the wishes of her mother and siblings, who stopped speaking to her. Jaeger was a navigator assigned to USS Excelsior, under Captain Styles for one year.
