Reverend Eugene Purdy (b. 1940) is a minister, and the founder of Faith Heritage. He managed the trust fund of Johnny Smith while Smith remained in a coma from 1995-2001, and covered up the truth of Vera Smith's suicide in the late 1990's. Purdy was portrayed by David Ogden Stiers; he was also played by Jodie Graham in "The House," and by Eric Johnson in "Revelations." Purdy was originally portrayed by Michael Moriarty in the unaired pilot episode.
