Mayer was born in New York, New York, USA. He may be best known for playing Vance Duke during the 1982-83 season of The Dukes of Hazzard. He later starred in the short-lived series Glitter and played T.J. Daniels on the soap opera Santa Barbera from 1987 through 1989. Mayer died in Sherman Oaks, California, on 23 July 2011. He was 57 years old.[1]
