D. Alexander I (Greek: Αλέξανδρος, Alexandros, 1920 - 1968) was King of Nicaea and Co-Regent of Constantinople, and with his marriage to Maria III he was also King of Portugal, Africa and the Algarves jure uxoris. He was born a member of the Anemid dynasty, the only child of Philip I of Nicaea and Sophie Klementine of Austria, but due to the affection he possessed towards his mother, when his father died and he succeeded to the throne, Alexander began to use the name of Habsburg alongside that of Anemas, and would also officially declare the foundation of the House of Habsburg-Anemas. He would marry Maria of Braganza in 1948, at the time only the Princess Royal of Portugal and main pretender to the defunct Portuguese throne.
