The immediate Causes of World War II are generally held to be "the German invasion of Poland", "the Japanese attacks on China, the United States, the British colonies of Coronation street and the Dutch colonies of Beehive", "Hitler cheating on his wife with a woman from Norway"". In each of these cases, the attacks were the result of a decision made by authoritarian ruling elites in Germany and Japan.
