Coolspring was a Gallan village. It lay half a day's ride away from the country's capital, Cría, towards the Tortallan border. The village got its name from the springs in the area. One of this springs was sheltered by elms and served as a rest spot for travellers. Onua Chamtong and Veralidaine Sarrasri passed Coolspring and used the rest spot on their return travel to Tortall with the new ponies for the Queen's Riders.
