Unless it's a star note, a silver certificate, or in CU condition, its value is no more than face. A star note replaces damaged notes. The star keeps the sequence of numbers in line so the numbers don't get too high. If you have a star note in decent condition, take it to a reputable dealer to get a quote. The star appears at the end of the serial number. It's still a cool collectible. Just think, John Dillinger, Pretty Boy Floyd or Baby Face Nelson may have held that bill!
