With Traps and Trapping you start with a Shovel, wooden stakes (25), and some random traps items (loop snare, foxtrap, cord, rope). This is a good way to start your game by constructing trap fences for the first reindeer you stumble upon. The shovel belongs to your stepfather's family, even if it doesn't say so in the item description.
