Professor Elvin Gadd is the Mushroom Kingdom's resident mad scientist, constantly experimenting in a variety of fields of work and inventing new devices. His devices have aided both Mario Bros. in their adventures before, thought they have caused some headaches as well. He is slightly eccentric and is very absent-minded. He acts mostly as a support role for the heroes throughout the series, providing with them with inventions and items to help them on their way.
