The RQ-117 Clarion was a small unmanned spatial drone (USV) designed for ultra-low detectability, long range reconnaissance missions, designed by Chevron Aerospace and operated by the United Nations Space Command. While not capable of atmospheric flight, the Clarion was a standard feature in the complements of most spacefaring vessels of the UNSC Navy, and allowed them to conduct long range reconnaissance of targets or locations with little risk of detection. The Clarion was operated by the UNSC Navy throughout the Human-Covenant War and the subsequent Remnant War, its design recieving multiple upgrades throughout its life. The RQ-117 remained in widespread service at the time of the Swarm War, and continued to be used in large numbers throughout the war.
