Marico (VWM126) was born into the Whiskers Mob on February 7, 2008. His mother was Ella and his father was Homstar Runner. His litter mates, Oriole (VWF127) and Sabota (VWM128). The Whiskers were down in numbers at that time do to evictions and roving. The group consisted of adults Rocket Dog, Machu Pichu, Ella, Wily Kat, Wollow, Busta, Axel, Rufus, Rhogan Josh and pups Nugget, Beaker and Juno. Rocket Dog's pups Nugget and Beaker were older by three months while Amira's pup Juno was older by one. At a few weeks old, a snake went down the birth burrow indangering Marico and his siblings. Rocket Dog the dominant female, was bitten by the snake while saving Marico and his siblings giving their mother a chance to evacuate them. She survived the bit.
