The Hero of Chasms of Malice was thought a person though to be extinct, a heir of Tancred the Magnificent. Many years ago the blood of Tancred, through the line of the eldest child was extinguished, and the stewards of the Ridermark took control of the kingdom until a suitable heir would be found. When the Great Seals of the True Shield were somehow broken and the Malice was released once more, a heir was found.
