An onyx is a black cheetah with yellow spots, so-named for their non-retractable claws. Onyx stones are named after them. They are native to the Sarpland, and a few of them have been domesticated by the Curani, and Salt Roadsmen as hunting animals; they along with dogs are revered. The Onyx Mine is home to the Onyxheads, humans with onyx-like faces, and non-retractable claws. They mine onyx, and make most of their money selling it, and by raiding the Lobott, and Salt Roadsmen.
