Lady Kayla was a noble in the Valdemaran Court. She became the wife of King Sendar and the mother of Queen Selenay. At first, Kayla desired Sendar's books more than him and was exceedingly shy, but agreed to the marriage as a partnership and a friendship. Over time, she grew to love him very much. After their marriage, she had very little role in the Royal Court. She died when Selenay was young.
