Jim Heacock (born June 23, 1948) is the former defensive coordinator of the Ohio State University football team. Heacock has been a coach since 1971. He was an assistant coach for the University of Washington Huskies from 1983–1987. As the team prepared for its bowl game in 1987 Heacock accepted a job as the head coach at NCAA Division I-AA Illinois State University. At Illinois State he employed future Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.
