The Sith Ascendancy was a government that existed from 303 ABY to 533 ABY. It claimed to be the only true successor to the Old Sith Empire, but actually had no grounds to make that claim. At its height, the Sith Ascendancy controlled approximately a third of the known galaxy. After its fall, the Ascendancy dissolved into several warring faction, reminiscent of the chaos after the fall of the First Galactic Empire.
