The Justice-class amphibious assault ship is the largest LHA yet designed. It's larger than many previous fleet carriers. The dual well decks provide enhanced capability to move material from ship to shore. The unique central island divides the ship's flight deck between the STOVL fixed wing operations on the starboard side and the helicopter operations on the port side. The starboard side includes a skijump, allowing increased maximum take-off weights. The very wide beam results in a relatively slow ship, which leaves it at a bit of disadvantage relative to a real carrier for undertaking CATOBAR operations.
