The Nikina Commandos were a special division of the Assault Commandos in the Royal Army of the Golden Empire. The unit was named for Aria Nikina. While all fully-trained Assault Commandos, Nikina Commandos received special training in long-term, deep-cover operations in enemy territory. Their primary mission was to train insurgent forces on enemy-held worlds to overthrow their government, allowing a followup attack or diplomatic talks by the Empire. Commandos were additionally trained in psychology, teaching methods, and the use of protocol droids as translators. They could operate in groups as large as companies or as small as single soldier advisors.
