Veneris was the goddess of love, beauty, sexuality, foreign lands, and fertility. She was also known as Athórkalloni Her second name roughly translates to the "the beauty in Horus Mansion". While Kalloní means beauty Athor means mansion of Horus. This name links the goddess to the god Areios who in earlier times was called Horus and hints at a possible link between the two before her union with Hephaistos. She was a major a goddess in the Diadochian pantheon in Diadochian mythology and she featured prominently in Ancient Diadochian religion. Her birthplace is said to have bee either Kýpros or Kythera. She was said to be born out of sea foam (Aphros) and the semen of the god Ammon-Dias.
