Rasmus Rissanen (born July 13, 1991, in Kuopio, Finland) is a Finnish defenceman currently playing for the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. Rissanen was chosen 178th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He then played two years of major junior with the Everett Silvertips. He played for Finland in the 2011 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He turned pro in 2011-12 with the Checkers.
