Stationed aboard the Hammerhead-class cruiser Endar Spire as part of the Jedi contingent of Rear Admiral Kedlis Hetton's task force, Wellir continued Shan's training even as the flotilla prepared to embark on a counterattack against the Sith Empire of Darths Revan and Malak. As the resulting battle escalated with the unexpected arrival of Sith reinforcements, he realized that his Padawan's abilities with battle meditation had suddenly matured, as she had gone into meditation of her own accord. In the wake of the Republic victory, he was able to explain this to the senior officers of Hetton's task force.
