He is a Japanese master practitioner of the Iai sword-drawing technique, Gen’ei Hirofumi Haen Getsuken (Phantom Hirofumi Style, Swallow Moon Blade) and is the teacher of both Johnny Sfondi and Crow in the art of swordsmanship. The speed of his Iai sword-drawing technique eclipses Johnny's and it is said that he wields a ten-foot spear that is capable of cutting down a man before he can even draw a small knife.
