Rengel [Rehn-gl] was an old sail-maker and retired marine living at the bottom of Cormorant Road in Malaz City. He once served on the Stormdriver. His personality swerved between "mawkishly nostalgic or blackly cynical, depending on whether you found him drunk or sober." The Widow Teal lived in the second floor apartment above him.
