Takato is a cheerful, happy, carefree person, and loves Digimon, loving to play the Digimon card game and drawing Digimon he made up. His drawing of Guilmon came to life and became his partner. He became fast friends with Henry Wong and his partner Terriermon. He also had a crush on Jeri Katou throughout the series. Takato cares about all of his friends and their Digimon. Takato is considered to the leader of the Tamers by many fans though it was never explicitly stated.
